The vocal work is definitely the stand out on this album. Vocalist Andy Cizek has a voice that works in any situation and range. Especially interesting is his delivery on songs like Spellbound where he's spitting out words a mile a minute to great effect. Also on the same song, as well as on many others he has this way of going soft only to explode at the right moments. It's powerful and it works to really draw you in to the songs. That's also not to say the vocal work over powers anything or dilutes the strengths of the instrumentals. The guitar work especially works to create great mood and atmosphere throughout the album.
The whole post hardcore genre is packed full of varied and talented bands to the point where saying a band is good feels like it's par for the course. WVNDER reaches further though and manages to go beyond being merely good and crosses into greatness. Precipice is an album not to miss if you like emotionally driven and atmospheric rock songs.
