really from this whole album there's a total of three songs I can tolerate for more than a minute. First off the opener XIX is actually good, it's fairly haunting and unlike the rest of the album his vocal delivery works very well. The first single they released titled The Negative One has a sound similar to Vol. 3 (Subliminal Verses) which was probably my favorite album by them, so it works well here. The song If Rain Is What You Want is the most simplistic song on this album. It's also one of the few times his clean vocals also work, it lasts a bit too long but it's actually a decent song. Other than that there's not much worth listening to on this album.
If you were expecting to hear that this is the album where Slipknot actually progresses and becomes a real metal band or that this album is worth listening to by anyone interested in metal music or heavy music in general, then you'll be severely disappointed. I wouldn't recommend anyone listening to this unless you already like Slipknot and even then I'd be hesitant to say that. It's probably one of their worst albums, it's also one of the worst albums this year, avoid it.
