As I said before the fact that they play it so safe with sound here is the best part of the album but also it's biggest issue. On one hand the sound is nostalgic, it really sounds like something from the late 90's or early 2000's. It somehow sounds classic but new at the same time. That said it's also a bit boring, even as catchy as some of the lyrics and rifts are, you can't quite shake the feeling that we've been here before.
Overall the album is a solid effort from the band. On one hand it has a lot going for it, it's catchy, it's got a classic sound, there's really no bad songs to find. On the other hand it just feels safe, and for that it's a tad unmemorable. It's more or less like visiting an old friend from high school to find them still doing exactly what they were doing. It's an enjoyable album, any fans of the Pop Punk genre and the band should definitely pick it up. It's NFG proving why they are considered the kings of the genre. It's also poppy enough to probably woo over some more mainstream radio rock listeners as well. It's well done, safe, by the book, Pop Punk.
