There's actually quite a few standout songs on this album. The opener Keys To The Kingdom kicks things off nicely and is definitely a return to their older sound. The next song All For Nothing also continues this sound as well. One of the more interesting songs on the album is War. It has an old-school punk feel to it in message and sound. It may be a bit simple, and it's still Linkin Park, but it's Linkin Park branching out in a good way. Until It's Gone is a more serious in tone song, but still energetic and catchy. Pretty much this continues on through the albums. I really don't think there's a single bad song on here nor is there a boring song. I can see a few of them growing tiresome but only after listening a hundred or so times. Point being this is a damn good album. Really if I have to level one criticism at it, it's the weird studio sounds or just random audio clips that appear at the end of some of the songs. They just don't seem to have any purpose.
The Hunting Party is the sixth studio album from the band and yet it could have been released 10 years ago and would have still worked. It's definitely Linking Park returning to what made Linkin Park work in the beginning. Any fans like myself who had dropped off in the past couple years will feel right at home. It manages to be nostalgic and yet still push the band at the same time. It just feels so natural for the band and thus is highly enjoyable to listen to even multiple time. If you have or had any interest in this band you really need to check this album out.
