Immediately the album shows it's change, and drastic departure from the last album with the opener Rock, Pebble, Stone. It's a much slower and emotional track, opening up into a more energetic sound. It's a more mature sound and sets the tone for the album. If you're looking for more traditional Emery the previously released (as a demo) The Beginning has you covered, with the emotional lyrics, great harmony in the backing vocals, and yes screaming. Tracks like Salvatore Wryhta are a bit more aggressive and faster pace. The song Pink Slip is upbeat and just bursting with power right from the get go and is really Emery at their peak. The standout track has to be Thrash though. It starts with an explosion and mathcore like sound leading into more traditional Emery sound and ending with lounge music sound. It's weird but it works so well and stands out.
Honestly I feel like this is the best album the band has ever released. The last album was bit unfocused and at times felt forced. This album is razor sharp. Everything from the mixing, production, music, harmonies, style, just everything on this album works together. I contributed to their Kickstarter and knowing the album would turn out this good I would have thrown more money at them. Not only is this a great release from the band, it's an amazing album for post-hardcore. Once this actually releases I recommend purchasing and listening to anyone.
