It's been five years since the last Thrice album and about four years since we really last heard from them but they are back. Thrice have always been giants in the over populated Post Hardcore/Melodic Hardcore genre, known for changing time signatures, distorted guitars, and catchy vocals blended with heavy and fast rock. It also seems like they've been around forever and seeing as how they started in 1998 and caught fire in the early 2000's they essentially have been in the music world. Personally while I've always been aware of Thrice I've never gotten into them. I'm ready to dive into this album to find out if it really goes places or is it just going nowhere.
The last time we heard from Architects was 2014's Lost Forever//Lost Together and it ended up being one of my favorite albums of that year. While it may not have reached the lofty ambitions of 2009's Hollow Crown it was technical enough and heavy enough to make a bigger impact than the two albums prior. My only issue was that a few of the songs blended together on the album and in the scene as a whole. After hearing a few singles from this release it felt like more of the same and I was a bit worried. Were my fears unfounded or have all our gods truly abandoned us?
Post Hardcore rockers Night Verses have released a new song called A DIALOGUE IN CATAPLEXY. You can stream it below.
Indie/Folk rockers Hodera have released a video for a brand new song called North Dakota. It's almost the one year anniversary of United By Birdcalls which I reviewed and it's the perfect time for some new music from the band. Check out the video after the break.
After thirteen years the original members of Saosin have reunited to release new music with a new album called Along The Shadow. The big news this time around is original frontman Anthony Green is back in full force. There will forever be debate as to if Saosin is better with Anthony Green or Cove Reber but now we get more material with Anthony Green to use to compare. Regardless this album is a big deal for anyone alive during the formative years of Saosin back in the early 2000's. So after all this time does the original Saosin lineup still have what it takes to impress or should they just fade back into the shadows?
Super group Hundred Suns have released the first full song called Fractional after teasing us for months. Check it out and see my thoughts after the break.

Take a journey back to 2015 to revisit You Were Never Alone the return of post hardcore giants Emery.
You know me, I like me some cheesy metal/hard rock once in a while. I remember digging Sixx:A.M back in my high school days because I was an angsty white teen from suburbia with no real issues but still mad at the world. It's been almost ten years since I've listened to anything from this band but I figured I'd check this album out. So does this band still have a place or is this album just damned?
"Hot Gospel is not a cult" it's a phrase written on their merch. It's also exactly something that a cult would say. They seem like they have a recipe for a cult. They all have perfect hair, charisma on stage, and intoxicating music. So is Hot Gospel actually a secret cult? Well I drove three hours to find out.
