That's not to say the music is soft. The opposite in fact, these guys rip. There's a layer of theatrics on everything and it makes it feel so much larger than life. Right from the opening intro the song Save Me From Myself comes in with some haunting synths then a vocal chorus, then everything comes in with the guitar riff, the bass line, and the drumming, all backed by those synths. The lead single All Used Up is one of the best songs from this EP, it has the theatrics of My Chemical Romance, the heaviness of From First To Last and the quirkiness of The Used all in one song. The closing track To Whom It May Concern is probably my favorite track, the guitar riff is memorable, the chorus is easily the catchiest, and it's still heavy at the same time.
Again I find myself with another short but sweet EP from a newer band. The only thing I don't like is that it's so short but that's a selfish criticism because it's only because I want to hear more from this band. Every member contributes something unique. They're doing something not a lot of other bands do, at least not successfully, and walking the line between heavy and catchy, dark and over the top. They make it work on this EP. If you interest in bands like The Used, From First To Last, Chiodos, My Chemical Romance, Greeley Estates, or Get Scared you need to hear Misery Loves Company.
